Welcome to our Christmas home tour 2021!
Our look this year is very simple and neutral with a fun twist on our Christmas tree!
Our home tour is one of many!
There are so many beautiful homes in this tour!
To start from the beginning please visit my friend Jennifer Rizzo to see everybody’s beautiful Christmas decor.
If you are coming from Just Destiny, welcome!
Every year I say I am going to get a little braver with my decor, and every year it pretty much stays simple.
And that is ok!
I appreciate so many different styles of Christmas decor, but I always come back to simple and neutral.
To me it is calming and creates a warm and cozy environment for myself and my family.

KITCHEN-
Let’s start right at the front door!
We are a family of 4 with 3 labs who rule the roost.
We live on a small private lake in the PNW and are homebodies at heart.
Our front door will take you directly into the kitchen.

Pomegranates are an easy way to add color to your kitchen for the season.
I love their color and how they look grouped in a marble bowl.
Below is a glimpse into the kitchen from the living room.
We keep the mini fridge stocked with a variety of drinks so guests can take their pick.
I like to keep the counters free of clutter, only adding simple touches of the season here and there.
Our coffee station is also doubling as a hot cocoa bar.
I added marshmallows to one of the canisters, gingerbread cookies to another, and vintage sleigh bells to the largest one.
It’s a great place to grab a warm drink on a chilly day.

Speaking of Trader Joes, they have the best holiday boozy drinks to try this year!
I set up a makeshift bar in the kitchen with some ingredients to make a cocktail, along with some festive little candy canes and my favorite Mrs. Meyers scented candle.
Satsuma oranges on a marble tray with the leaves add a festive touch in the corner.
You can find the DIY instructions to the wood riser right here.
This proves you don’t need to spend a lot on holiday decor.
You can find a lot right at your grocery store!
DINING ROOM-
Our dining room overlooks the lake so I like to keep things simple in here and let the view out the windows be the focal point.
More barware sits on a round marble tray next to a little faux tree in this great pot.
Next to the lamp I placed inexpensive glass candle holders with moody black candles on them.
I kept the centerpiece simple by adding thrifted silver ornaments, glass garland, and a disco ball to my favorite large decorative bowl.
LIVING ROOM-
I really got into using disco balls this year as you can see.
When the sun comes in and hits them, they create almost a snowy effect on the ceilings and walls.
It’s pretty magical.
I also really like the juxtaposition of the shiny mirrored ball with the worn antlers on the coffee table.
I rummaged through my attic and found some old worn nutcrackers, and sprayed them black to sit on top of this stack of books on the shelf.
I wanted the Christmas decor to blend in and not jump out at you when you walked into the room.
I just got these candles and these candleholders recently and I have had fun moving them all over the house.
Here I filled another bowl with ornaments and added a sprig of juniper.
I kept the pillows and blankets neutral on the couch.
I feel like the texture of them adds enough interest and it is my favorite spot to curl up and watch Christmas movies.
The ultimate ski book seemed like the perfect winter coffee table book, don’t you think?
I didn’t change a whole lot on the shelves.
We are super busy at work these days, and have upcoming travel in December.
I didn’t want to have to come home from vacation and be left with the daunting task of loading and hauling 4,000 bins up to the attic.
In one of the bowls I placed some cool old sleigh bells, and besides those and the nutcrackers, that is it!
The tree is the only thing that stands out and that was intentional.
It is filled with all of the kids homemade ornaments over the years.
Even the angel tree topper was made by Cody when he was little out of a paper plate.
He’s almost 19 now!
Besides homemade ornaments, there’s the kids ornaments from their first Christmas, and ones they picked out each year growing up.
I am calling this the “walk down memory lane tree.”
Each ornament has a story behind it and I love that.
I hope you enjoyed touring our simple and neutral home decorated for Christmas.
Up next on the tour is my friend Sheila at Maison De Cinq.
Enjoy the tours and I hope to see you back here again!
